Job Opportunity: Agent - HC&D Contact Centre

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) is the national tax collecting authority. Established as an autonomous agency, we are responsible for administering the South African tax system and customs services. Our main functions include collecting national taxes, duties, and levies to help build a better country for all.

Job Purpose

As an HC&D Contact Centre Agent, you will handle various customer service calls through the HR Support Call Centre. You will be responsible for responding to questions regarding human resources, resolving issues promptly and courteously, and maintaining accurate reports and records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Support: Provide high-quality service by answering questions, resolving issues, and assisting with HR-related matters via phone and email.
  • Documentation: Ensure all calls and queries are recorded, documented, and closed properly. Maintain a "Question and Answer" script for future reference.
  • Data Management: Update employee information and produce activity reports while ensuring the strict confidentiality and security of sensitive data.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to improving service standards and procedures to ensure the department operates efficiently.
  • Problem Solving: Manage and resolve escalated complaints and follow up on employee requests where necessary.
  • Technical Support: Assist with HR technical issues and complete special assignments, such as research or data entry.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Option 1: A Higher Certificate (NQF 5) in Human Resources with at least 2 years of experience in HR Administration or an HR Contact Centre.
  • Option 2: A Senior Certificate (NQF 4) in Human Resources with at least 3 years of experience in HR Administration or an HR Contact Centre.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of HR policies and procedures.
  • Experience in HR Administration and Contact Centre environments.
  • Active listening skills to understand and respond to diverse situations.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data accurately.
  • Proficiency in query resolution and quality control.
