Role Purpose

The Analyst for Exemptions is responsible for interpreting and applying the Income Tax Act. You will review and process applications from organizations or individuals seeking exemption from income tax, ensuring all decisions align with South African law.

Key Responsibilities

As an Analyst, your duties will include:

  • Process Management: Reviewing financial statements and applications to ensure they comply with relevant tax laws.
  • Quality Control: Delivering high-quality work within set timeframes and identifying ways to improve internal procedures.
  • Communication: Handling queries and providing clear information to stakeholders regarding tax exemption statuses.
  • Compliance: Identifying potential violations of standards and ensuring all work meets legislative requirements.
  • Reporting: Providing accurate data and reports to management to assist in decision-making.
  • Customer Service: Building positive relationships by providing consistent and error-free service to clients.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet one of the following criteria:

  • A Higher Certificate (NQF 5) and at least 3 years of experience in a data analytics environment.
  • OR a Senior Certificate (NQF 4) and at least 4 years of experience in an analyst role.
  • A background or degree in Law or Compliance is considered a strong advantage.

  • Financial analysis and data collection.
  • Knowledge of risk management and tax policies.
  • Proficiency in reporting and standard operating procedures.
