The Eastern Cape Department of Public Works and Infrastructure (DPWI) is responsible for managing and developing provincial government infrastructure, including schools and hospitals. We are currently seeking a skilled Artisan in Carpentry to join our team in Mthatha.

Minimum Requirements

• A Matric certificate.
• An appropriate Trade Test Certificate in Carpentry.
• A valid driver’s license.

Key Responsibilities

As an Artisan, your role will involve the following duties:

• Design and Production: Create and build objects according to client specifications and professional standards.
• Maintenance and Repairs: Inspect buildings and equipment for technical faults. Perform repairs and test equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
• Quality Control: Ensure all work meets the required quality and safety standards.
• Administration: Maintain an accurate record of repairs, update maintenance registers, and compile progress reports.
• Supervision: Lead and mentor junior staff members and contribute to operational plans.
• Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest carpentry technologies and procedures.
