Job Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all plant services. You will ensure that our equipment runs efficiently and safely to support our production goals.

Key Requirements

  • Matric certificate.
  • Qualified Millwright with a Trade Test.
  • A National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is an added advantage.
  • At least 5 years of experience maintaining equipment such as:
    • Refrigeration systems
    • Coal-fired boilers
    • Electrical switching (HT & LT)
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and guides.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Available for standby duty and monthly Sunday utility shutdowns.

Duties and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the execution of maintenance and repairs across various plant services, including:

  • Systems Maintenance: Refrigeration, boilers, steam reticulation, and compressed air services.
  • Electrical: Managing high and low tension electrical reticulation.
  • Facilities: General building maintenance, roads, fencing, cold room racking, and ventilation.
  • Water & Sanitation: Managing water consumption, drainage, and sewerage lines.
  • Performance & Safety: Working according to SHE (Safety, Health, and Environmental) procedures and seeking ways to improve utility performance.
  • Analysis: Performing fault-finding, root cause analysis, and equipment performance reviews.
  • Compliance: Following "Best Practices," 5S, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
  • Administration: Completing and submitting accurate job cards daily.
