Purpose:
To provide a proactive business banking sales and service management function that will retain and grow a portfolio of business clients by identifying and implementing value‑adding and specialised business banking financial product solutions from a range of standard and/or customised offerings. Experience – Minimum:
- At least 5 years of banking experience, with 3 years in Business Banking.
- Experience managing a complex portfolio of business customers with a focus on service and financial analysis.
- Responsibility for client relationship management of high‑value clients with varied and complex needs.
- Significant experience in preparing and motivating credit applications.
- Ability to control costs and manage sales. Qualifications – Minimum:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management or Finance. Qualifications – Ideal:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Finance.
- Knowledge of product features, benefits, and value propositions.
- Understanding of current taxation laws affecting customers.
- Good knowledge of administration processes for Business Banking transactions.
- Ability to perform financial modelling, activity‑based costing, and analyse complex cash‑flow cycles. Knowledge – Minimum:
- Principles of business economics and the current business environment. - Advanced customer relationship management, including credibility, gravitas, and presence with business stakeholders. - Different industry sectors, sector risk profiles, and trends, and the impact of external economic, political, legislative, and climatic conditions.
- Local market sales principles to retain and grow the portfolio.
- General banking practices and procedures.
- Competitor product offerings, channels, and operational/marketing tactics.
- Credit principles, including credit application and securities.
- Legal entities (companies, close corporations, sole proprietorships) and legislative requirements in the commercial market.
- Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS) and the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA).
- Ability to extract, analyse, and apply CRM insights to influence client management strategy.
- Understanding of Business Banking operations, business risks, industry risks, and financial requirements. Skills:
- Interpersonal and relationship management.
- Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook).
- Negotiation, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
- Commercial and strategic thinking.
- Communication, influencing, analytical, and attention‑to‑detail capabilities.
