Job Title: Business Intelligence Business Analyst – Pipeline

Job Purpose: Gather, analyse and understand business users’ data and analytics requirements. Translate these requirements into analytics best‑practice technical solutions that meet business objectives. Ensure alignment between business, product managers, data and analytics teams and produce comprehensive functional specifications from business requirements. Maintain in‑depth knowledge of analytics and relevant data concepts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and document detailed data and analytics requirements from business users.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications and functional documents.
• Collaborate with product managers, data engineers and analytics teams to align solutions with business goals.
• Develop and maintain data models, data flows, test cases and data dictionaries.
• Perform data analysis to assess impact and define next steps.
• Identify and classify data exposure risks in line with relevant legislation.
• Support the full software development lifecycle, including testing and quality assurance.
• Maintain knowledge of emerging analytics technologies and best practices.

Education (Minimum):

• Tertiary qualification in Information Systems.
• Certification in Business Analysis.

Education (Ideal):

• Certification in AWS Data Analytics Specialty or AWS Architecture.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

• Enterprise‑level data warehousing.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS and Azure.
• Understanding of cluster computing and big data fundamentals.
• Data governance and data management principles.
• Knowledge of data protection regulations.
• Familiarity with financial systems and procedures.
• Experience with the software development lifecycle and DevOps practices.
• Ability to create conceptual data models.
• Basic data analysis using SQL (PostgreSQL).
• Understanding of data visualisation concepts.
• Experience with software testing and quality assurance.
• Knowledge of database design and administration.

Preferred Experience:

• Work experience in a banking or financial services environment.
• Understanding of banking business models and credit processes.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Proficiency with Amazon Redshift.
• Advanced data analysis skills and ability to influence organisational strategy.

Professional Experience (Minimum):

• At least 5 years in information systems, business intelligence and data warehousing.
• At least 5 years drafting Business Requirement Specifications and translating requirements between business and technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to use business analysis techniques such as conceptual models, ER diagrams, test cases, data flows, UML, data dictionaries and process flows.
• Skill in performing data analysis and determining impact and next steps.
• Ability to identify and classify data exposure risks according to legislation.

Professional Experience (Preferred):

• Ability to analyse data impact on broader organisational frameworks and objectives.
• Relevant business domain knowledge, especially in credit or other banking areas.
• Business information analysis experience within a finance or banking environment.
