Business Manager – SomersetWest, Western Cape, South Africa Company: Capitec Bank Ltd Apply by: 23 March 2026 Purpose: Provide proactive business banking sales and service management to retain and grow a portfolio of business clients by offering value‑adding financial products and solutions. Experience (Minimum) - At least 5 years banking experience, with 3 years in business banking. - Proven ability to manage a complex portfolio of business customers with a focus on service and financial analysis. - Experience preparing and motivating credit applications. - Skills in cost control and sales management. Experience (Ideal) - 1–2 years of managerial or leadership experience. - 1–2 years managing a small business centre. Qualifications (Minimum) - Tertiary qualification in Business Management or Finance. Qualifications (Ideal) - Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Finance. Knowledge (Minimum) - Principles of business economics and the current economic environment. - Customer relationship management (CRM) principles and techniques. - Understanding of different industry sectors, sector risk profiles, and the impact of climatic conditions on agriculture (if applicable). - Local market sales principles to optimise retention and growth. - General banking practices and procedures. - Competitor product offerings, channels, and marketing tactics. - Credit principles, including credit application and securities. - Legal entities in the commercial market and related legislative requirements. - Knowledge of the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS) and the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA). - Ability to extract, analyse, and apply CRM insights to shape client strategy. - Understanding of business banking operations, business risks, industry risks, and financial requirements. Knowledge (Ideal) - Features, benefits, and value propositions of company products and services. - Multi‑level products and pricing structures. - Current taxation laws affecting customers. - Administration processes and procedures in business banking. - Financial modelling, activity‑based costing, and complex cash‑flow analysis (industry‑specific). Skills - Interpersonal and relationship management. - Analytical abilities. - Negotiation and problem‑solving skills. - Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook). - Commercial and strategic thinking. - Communication, influencing, attention to detail, and decision‑making abilities.
