Purpose: Provide proactive business banking sales and service management to retain and grow a portfolio of business clients by offering value‑adding, specialised financial products and solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a complex portfolio of business customers with a focus on service and financial analysis.
  • Prepare and motivate credit applications.
  • Control costs and drive sales within the business banking unit.
  • Identify and implement suitable banking products for clients.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and apply CRM insights.
  • Analyse market trends, including agricultural impacts, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations, credit principles, and legal entity requirements.
  • Prepare financial models, perform cash‑flow analysis, and evaluate pricing structures.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 years in banking, with at least 3 years in Business Banking.
  • Proven experience managing a portfolio of business customers with a service and financial analysis focus.
  • Significant experience preparing and motivating credit applications.
  • Experience in cost control and sales management.

Ideal Experience:

  • 1–2 years of managerial or leadership experience.
  • 1–2 years managing a small business centre.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum: Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management or Finance.
  • Ideal: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Finance.

Knowledge Required:

  • Principles of business economics and the current economic environment.
  • Customer relationship management (CRM) principles.
  • Understanding of different industry sectors, sector risk profiles, and the impact of climatic conditions on agriculture.
  • Local market sales principles to optimise retention and growth.
  • General banking practices and procedures.
  • Competitor products, channels, and operational tactics.
  • Credit principles, including application processes and security.
  • Legal entities (companies, close corporations, sole proprietors) and relevant legislation.
  • Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS) and Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA).
