Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and energetic professional to provide independent oversight and advice on information and technology risks. The role will help improve risk awareness and risk culture across the business by challenging first‑line management’s IT risk practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, assess and treat information and technology related risks.
- Provide independent oversight, advice and assistance to the business.
- Improve risk awareness and risk culture throughout the organization.
- Challenge and advise first‑line managers on their IT risk management practices.
- Perform risk and control assessments across the IT environment.
- Ensure compliance with cyber and IT security best practices.
- Support the implementation of leading frameworks such as COBIT, ISO, NIST, ITIL, COSO, DAMA and DM‑BOK.
- Prepare reports and present findings to senior management.
- Contribute to the development of risk management policies and procedures.
Experience and Skills
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in risk management, internal or external auditing, or IT governance.
- Proven experience in governance and oversight roles, especially in IT audit, information security or cyber security.
- Strong understanding of cyber and IT security principles, cloud computing and data management.
- Experience performing risk and control assessments and managing information risk.
- Good knowledge of risk methodologies and control frameworks.
- Ability to apply business acumen and communicate complex ideas clearly.
- Self‑motivated, energetic and passionate about service in the banking industry.
Qualifications
- Minimum: Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational.
- Ideal: Tertiary qualification in Risk and Compliance, Data Science or a related field.
Knowledge Requirements
- Understanding of IT and cyber security, cloud computing and data management practices.
- Familiarity with leading practices and regulatory requirements.
- General business acumen.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
