About the Role
We are looking for a Systems Analyst to join our team in Stellenbosch. This is a design‑focused position that emphasises system architecture, integration and solution thinking. You will not be writing large amounts of code, but you will need a solid understanding of development and coding concepts.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, configure and maintain automation and system integrations throughout the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Align technical solutions with business processes and governance requirements, both internal and external.
- Provide technical support and resolve complex technical queries.
- Work with internal teams and external system stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Contribute to solution architecture discussions and design decisions.
- Work with event‑driven systems, handling the publishing and listening of events.
- Apply Domain‑Driven Design to create elegant object‑oriented systems.
Minimum Requirements
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology (Computer Science or Information Systems).
- 5–8 years of experience in systems design and analysis.
- Experience with complex system integrations.
- Strong understanding of development environments; a background in software engineering is advantageous.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in the telecommunications sector is advantageous.
- Technical Skills: SQL, Transact‑SQL, Web Services, HTML, CSS, JavaScript. Exposure to Java is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Certifications such as AWS are beneficial but not required.
- Broad technical exposure across multiple technologies is valued more than niche certifications.
Ideal Experience and Tools
- Jira, Confluence, and other project management tools.
- Exposure to automation tools and integration frameworks.
- Working knowledge of Java and/or C#.
- Understanding of banking systems, quality assurance best practices, and governance in regulated environments.
- Familiarity with AI prompt engineering, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, influencing and facilitation skills.
- Commercial thinking, planning, organising and coordination capabilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high‑quality delivery.
Qualifications
- Minimum: Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology (Computer Science or Information Systems) and Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational.
- Preferred: National Diploma in Information Technology (Computer Science or Programming).
Skills and Competencies
- Advanced knowledge of systems analysis methodologies, SDLC processes, and ITIL principles.
- Advanced knowledge of automation tools and integration frameworks.
- Ability to craft elegant object‑oriented designs using Domain‑Driven Design.
- Good understanding of banking systems and best practices in quality assurance.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to work under pressure, including after‑hours support when needed.
