Capitec Bank Ltd is looking for a Test Automation Engineer II to join its credit‑focused engineering team in Cape Town, South Africa. You will work in an Agile delivery environment on new credit products and features, designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks with Playwright and JavaScript. Your duties will include testing across front‑end, back‑end, and API layers, supporting integration and regression testing, and ensuring quality throughout the software development life cycle. You will collaborate with developers, business stakeholders, and other testers to embed quality into every stage of development and help improve testing methods, environments, and pipelines.
Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years of hands‑on experience in test automation
- Strong knowledge of automation frameworks, test case design, and execution
- Experience with integration, regression, and API testing- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and version control such as Git
- A tertiary qualification in Software Testing or a related field
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification is preferred
- Experience using Playwright and JavaScript for automation
- Exposure to banking or credit environments and complex transactional systems
- Ability to work effectively in Agile teams
- Good analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills
Education:
- Minimum: Grade 12 National Certificate/Vocational
- Preferred: Relevant tertiary qualification in Software Testing and ISTQB Foundation Level
