About the Position

The Mpumalanga Department of Health is looking for dedicated and skilled health professionals to join our team. Our mission is to provide equitable, high-quality, and people-centered healthcare to the community through an integrated network of services.

Requirements

• Education: Senior Certificate (Grade 12) plus a Diploma or Degree in General Nursing and Midwifery (accredited with SANC under R425).
• Registration: Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
• Experience: At least four (4) years of experience as a Professional Nurse after SANC registration.
• Specialization: An additional one-year qualification in ICU or Critical Care Science will be a strong advantage.

Key Skills and Competencies

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
• Experience in supervision and teaching within a clinical setting.
• Solid understanding of the Uniform Patient Fees Schedule (UPFS).
• Knowledge of the Medical Schemes Act (including Chronic Disease Lists and Diagnostic Treatment Pairs).
• Understanding of Prescribed Minimum Benefit (PMB) legislation.
• Familiarity with ICD-10 coding and the ability to link diagnosis with procedure codes is preferred.
