Job Description

The primary responsibility involves daily travel to various broiler farms to perform disinfecting of chicken houses according to standard operating procedures. The role requires approximately 80% to 90% travel time, often independently, and the ability to disinfect houses after they have been fully washed.

Key Duties Include:

• Travel to assigned farms daily for disinfecting operations.
• Perform disinfecting of broiler houses following approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure the house is prepared (e.g., switching on fans) prior to disinfection.
• Disinfect the vehicle and shower facilities on-site.
• Complete all required documentation, including disinfecting checklists.
• Prepare the disinfecting solution by accurately mixing the approved chemical at the correct dilution.
• Conduct swabs after disinfecting each house.
• Follow manufacturer instructions for the disinfecting unit.
• Secure the house after disinfection to prevent unauthorized access.

Job Requirements

• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent qualification.
• Valid Code 10 driver's licence with PDP.
• Technical background is advantageous.
• Knowledge of chicken house layouts is required.
• Clear criminal record.
• Essential: Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Afrikaans when engaging with GFC Contract Growers.
• Strong client interaction skills, both internally and externally.
• Willingness to work overtime, including Saturdays and Sundays.
