Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a dedicated Merchandiser for our Mossel Bay store. This role involves ensuring the store's merchandising standards are executed and maintained while providing excellent customer service.
Minimum Requirements
Essential: Grade 12 / Matric qualification
Essential: Up to 6 months' experience in retail
Essential: Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
Essential: Willingness and ability to work standard retail hours
Advantageous: At least one year of retail experience
Job Description
Restock merchandise promptly to maximize sales opportunities
Ensure delivered stock and stock pulled from the storeroom is stored and packed correctly and on time
Verify stock on shelves is within its sell-by date
Maintain full product range availability on shelves at all times
Implement regular stock rotation (FIFO basis)
Report low stock levels, out-of-stock items, damaged stock, and expired stock to management
Assist with stock counting and general stocktaking duties
Adhere strictly to Dis-Chem's operating standards, store layout, and planograms
Ensure boxes are flattened after unpacking and stored in designated areas
Maintain neat, visible, and properly presented shelves with correct labeling and pricing
Report any pricing discrepancies to management
Stay updated on current and new product information
Build, stock, and maintain merchandising displays regularly
Ensure daily physical upkeep of the store and merchandise displays; manage designated stock in storeroom and on shop floor
Assist with loading and unloading stock deliveries
Ensure items without barcodes are clearly marked
Assist with back shopping tasks
Participate in training new staff members
Provide friendly, helpful, and courteous assistance and advice to all customers
Follow up on customer out-of-stock queries using the customer service out-of-stock list
Resolve all customer stock inquiries effectively
Wear the correct uniform and badge at all times
Minimize losses through careful handling of merchandise
Comply with Dis-Chem's policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and health and safety regulations
