Job Vacancy: Enterprise Risk Management Committee Member (ICT Specialist)

The Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to join the Enterprise Risk Management Committee (ERMC) as an Ordinary Member. This role specifically focuses on Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Digital governance.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • A University Degree in Information Communication Technology (ICT), Digital studies, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a management role.
  • Must be an independent external candidate (not currently employed by the department).
  • Extensive knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, ISO3100, King IV Report on Corporate Governance, COSO, and the Public Sector Risk Management Framework.
  • Previous experience serving on a Risk Management or Audit Committee.
  • Strong background in ICT governance, risk management, and auditing.
  • Experience working within a communications environment is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work according to the approved ERMC Charter. Main duties include:

  • Providing expert advice to the Accounting Officer and management on risk management and ICT governance.
  • Reviewing and monitoring the implementation of the department’s Risk Management Framework, policies, and strategies.
  • Guiding the department in identifying and assessing risks to ensure all registers are accurate and complete.
  • Advising on how to integrate risk management into the department's daily planning, monitoring, and reporting activities.
  • Overseeing ICT compliance, business processes, and general corporate governance.
