POSITION: Assistant Technician

JOB REQUIREMENTS & OTHER ATTRIBUTES:

• PSIRA registration (Grade C) advantageous
• Ability to work under pressure and pay close attention to detail

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Wireman
• Practical electrical/electronic knowledge advantageous

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

To assist the Installations Technician with installing cabling for alarm systems, intercom, CCTV, and access control. Perform drilling independently, connect detectors and alarm control panels, and power up and walk test systems without technician assistance.

DUTIES:

• Assist technician with installing alarm and security equipment
• Assist technician with removing old equipment from client premises
• Run new cables, apply glue, drill holes, mount detectors, panels, contacts, lights
• Inform technician of equipment/tool limitations
• Inform technician of required cabling
• Assist technician with user functions and handover
• Clean vehicles and premises after installations
