General Assistant - Pepkor Speciality (Secunda)

Pepkor is the largest retail store network in Southern Africa, with over 5,000 stores across 10 countries. Our Speciality division focuses on launching and growing unique fashion and footwear brands. We are currently looking for a professional and motivated General Assistant to join our team in Secunda, Mpumalanga.

Role Overview

The General Assistant is responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining high store standards, and helping the branch achieve its sales targets. This is a full-time position suited for someone who enjoys working with people and thrives in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Provide friendly and helpful assistance to all shoppers to ensure a positive experience.
• Sales Targets: Work actively to meet daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals.
• Merchandising: Ensure shelves are regularly restocked and that the store layout is neat and attractive.
• Asset Protection: Help protect company assets, including stock, cash, and equipment, by following safety and security procedures.
• Administration: Assist with stockroom tasks, including processing mark-downs and managing lay-by items.
• Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized shopping environment for both staff and customers.

Requirements

• Education: Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
• Skills: Basic computer literacy.
• Communication: Ability to talk to customers and team members clearly and professionally.
• Teamwork: A positive attitude and the ability to work well with others.
• Personal Attributes: High level of integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to handle pressure.
• Planning: Strong organizational skills to manage daily tasks effectively.
