General Manager: iStore Insurance and Warranty

Role Overview

Core Group is looking for a commercially-minded and operationally strong General Manager to lead the iStore Services portfolio. This role focuses on growing iStore Insure and iCare Plus warranty products for Mac, iPad, iPhone, and Apple Watch.

As iCare is our exclusive warranty solution in South Africa, this position is vital for customer retention and overall business strategy. You will have full accountability for the performance, operations, and development of our insurance and warranty products across all retail channels.

Main Responsibilities

Insurance & Warranty Management
  • Increase the adoption of insurance and warranty products across all iStore locations.
  • Manage weekly and monthly growth targets for new policies and business acquisition.
  • Oversee the entire claims process to ensure fast and efficient service for customers.
  • Work with underwriting partners to improve product offerings and pricing.
  • Develop and launch new iCare extension products to keep the brand competitive.
Digital Innovation & Automation
  • Lead projects to automate registrations, uploads, and claims workflows.
  • Launch online self-service portals and digital insurance integrations.
  • Work with digital and e-commerce teams to ensure a smooth mobile and online experience.
  • Create live reporting dashboards to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
Retail Engagement & Training
  • Organize and lead national roadshows at iStore locations.
  • Train store teams on product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Support underperforming stores with customized improvement strategies.
  • Gather feedback from frontline staff to improve products and processes.
Team Leadership
  • Lead and mentor a team of four direct reports, including administrative and claims staff.
  • Manage recruitment, performance reviews, and career development.
  • Foster a high-performance culture through regular evaluations and support.

Requirements

  • A university degree in business, commerce, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing teams.
  • Strong background in account management or commercial operations.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or the Apple ecosystem is highly preferred.
