Job Title:Geology Support Specialist - Ivanplats Platreef Project

Job Description:

Join the team developing a world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project using state-of-the-art underground mining methods. This role involves providing critical geology support to mine operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Honours degree in Geology from a recognized tertiary institution.
• Proficient in Microsoft software: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

Required Work Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of underground experience specifically in the Platinum Bushveld Complex - Northern Limb.
• Experience with the Long-Hole Mining Method.
• Good understanding of the Platreef orebody and mineralization (Geochemistry).
• Proficiency in mine software packages: Deswik, Datamine, and Leapfrog (preferred).
• High-level administrative skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect, interpret, and report on production geology issues: core logging/sampling, wireframing, modelling, grade/tonnage estimations, and reconciliations aligned with company objectives.
• Liaise between Geology and Mining Engineering.
• Conduct geological and structural mapping at development ends.
• Ensure cover drilling and grade control are executed according to standards.
• Capture geological, structural mapping, and logging data accurately.
• Plot mapped critical geological features with high potential.
• Ensure data is collected accurately and entered into the database promptly.
• Proactively participate in geology interpretation (faults, structure, orebody) and ensure wireframing is accurate.
• Assist the Senior Geologist in managing diamond drill programs, site coordination, and contractor management.
• Report and communicate daily functions to the mining and mine geology team.
• Conduct underground sampling: face mapping, sample marking, QAQC of sampling and samples.
• Log core and supervise core sampling, including sample tracking, marking, recording, and QAQC.
• Supervise execution of underground exploration and cover drilling programs.
• Supervise execution of underground grade control drilling.
