About the Position

The Drakenstein Local Municipality is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Assistant. In this role, you will support technical and non-technical staff with daily laboratory operations. Your duties will include cleaning, general laboratory maintenance, and traveling to various wastewater treatment facilities to collect water samples.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with general laboratory functions and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
• Collect samples from various wastewater treatment plants across the municipality.
• Support technical staff in day-to-day operations.

Requirements

• Education: Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Science, or an NQF Level 3 qualification in Water or Wastewater Treatment.
• License: A valid Code B driver’s license is required.
• Experience: At least 1 year of experience working in a water or wastewater laboratory environment.
