Job Purpose
The role of a Lecturer is to deliver engaging, high-quality learning experiences to students; provide academic guidance and consultation; contribute to the knowledge base of the discipline through research and innovation; and support the broader academic goals of the ICT department.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures in Information Technology and Business Information Systems, with a strong emphasis on Business Analysis and Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN).
- Facilitate interactive learning in both online and physical classroom environments.
- Develop and update module content to align with current industry standards and IIE curriculum frameworks.
- Mark assessments, provide constructive feedback, and analyze student results at the modular level.
- Implement interventions to support at-risk students and promote student success.
- Engage in continuous professional development and academic research.
- Participate in departmental meetings, moderation, and curriculum enhancement activities.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum: Honour or Masters’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
- Preferred: Honours or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, or Business Analysis.
Experience
- 1–3 years of industry experience in Business Analysis, Information Systems, or related IT roles.
- 1–3 years of lecturing or training experience at tertiary level.
- Solid understanding of the South African Higher Education regulatory framework.
- Familiarity with Teaching and Learning theory, assessment methods, and learning interventions.
- Proficiency in Business Analysis and Business Process Modelling (BPMN) tools and methods.
Key Competencies (Academic)
- In-depth knowledge of South African higher education systems and policies.
- Sound understanding of Business Analysis principles, requirements elicitation, and process modeling.
- Strong digital literacy and ability to work with LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle, MS Teams).
- Commitment to student-centered learning and academic excellence.
- Excellent time management, adaptability, and communication skills.

Working Hours (Full-Time)
Classes are scheduled from 08h00 to 17h00, Monday to Friday. Working hours depend on allocated modules and departmental needs.
