Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must have:

  • A Grade 12 Certificate (Matric / NQF Level 4).
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will handle daily library operations, including:

  • User Services: Assisting new and existing library members with registration, issuing membership cards, and managing the lending and return of library materials.
  • Information Management: Updating user details on the computer database and identifying overdue items to send out notifications.
  • Administrative Support: Managing special requests for materials and providing photocopying services for patrons.
  • Financial Duties: Collecting and receipting payments, reconciling daily cash totals, and preparing documentation for banking.
  • Library Maintenance: Shelving books correctly, conducting regular stock counts, and removing outdated materials.
  • Event Support: Setting up book displays and arranging furniture for library programs or study areas.
