Role Overview

We are seeking three Principal Civil Engineering Assistants to provide technical expertise and support in quality assurance. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all civil engineering projects meet strict standards through document verification, site inspections, and the implementation of quality control procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• N5 - N6 or a National Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) or construction supervision and monitoring.
• Thorough knowledge of South African engineering standards and regulations, such as SANS and API.
• Familiarity with quality management systems.
• Registration with ECSA is an added advantage.
• Project Management experience is an added advantage.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular site visits to ensure workmanship and materials comply with project specifications and industry standards.

Document Verification: Review engineering plans, technical drawings, and documentation for accuracy. Ensure all changes are properly approved and recorded.

Non-Conformity Management: Identify and report defects. Work closely with project teams to coordinate and monitor corrective actions.

Procedure Development: Assist in creating and updating QA checklists and procedures to stay aligned with current regulations.

Technical Support: Act as a subject matter expert for project teams, offering guidance on civil engineering and quality-related matters.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and construction methods.
• Proficiency in QA/QC processes and inspection procedures.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to write clear technical reports and maintain accurate records.
• Proficiency in MS Office and relevant engineering software.
• Leadership skills and the ability to handle conflict professionally.
