About the Position

The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness is looking for dedicated Professional Nurses to join our team. We are responsible for providing quality public healthcare services to the Western Cape community. This role involves general nursing duties across various grades based on your level of experience.

Minimum Requirements

• A basic R425 qualification (Nursing Degree or Diploma) or an equivalent qualification.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse and Midwife.

Experience Requirements

• Grade 1: No experience required after registering with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
• Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years of recognized experience in nursing after SANC registration.
• Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years of recognized experience in nursing after SANC registration.

Skills and Competencies

• Excellent communication and facilitation skills for engaging with the community and stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of health legislation and policies, including Healthcare 2030 and Sustainable Development Goals.
• Exceptional planning and organizational skills related to community healthcare programs.
• Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office programs.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.

Job Requirements and Working Conditions

• Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Ability to work overtime when required.
• Willingness to rotate through different wards within the facility.
• Ability to travel if necessary to meet operational needs.
