Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A relevant B Tech or Bachelor’s Degree in Botany, Nature Conservation, Ecological Restoration, or a similar field.
  • 2 to 5 years of professional experience in a related role.
  • Previous experience in Coastal Management is highly advantageous.
  • A valid Code B driver’s license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Managing the full life cycle of Coastal Precinct Management Plans (CPMP), including development, upgrades, and maintenance projects.
  • Monitoring compliance to safeguard coastal assets and ensure sustainable development through effective oversight.
  • Ensuring all activities align with the ICM Act, NEMA, and City Coastal Bylaws.
  • Providing technical input on land use, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), setback lines, and coastal engineering.
  • Supporting coastal emergency responses and managing programs for dune rehabilitation, coastal signage, and general maintenance.
