Senior Professional Officer - Senior Structural Engineer Jobs

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in the Western Cape.

Role Overview

In this position, you will provide expert engineering services for coastal infrastructure. You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies and scoping to the detailed design of repairs and refurbishments for marine structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional engineering guidance for capital coastal infrastructure initiatives.
• Lead the concept and detailed design of coastal infrastructure repairs and upgrades.
• Manage and implement coastal projects to ensure all technical and timeline requirements are met.
• Monitor project progress and analyze results to optimize execution and efficiency.

Requirements

• Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSc Eng or B Eng).
• Specialization: A post-graduate qualification in structural or coastal engineering.
• Professional Status: Current registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) with ECSA.
• Experience: 5 to 8 years of relevant post-registration experience.
• Technical Expertise: Proven experience in the design and management of coastal and marine structures (working with concrete, steel, and timber).
• Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, Prokon, AutoCAD (Civil 3D), and MS Project or Primavera P6.
• Licensing: A valid Code B driver’s license.
