Job Description

Purpose of the Role

To provide administrative support to the SHEQ Manager within the SHEQ department, working closely with the safety team across regions, as well as provide support to the head office workshop, warehouse, and the field service team. This includes the preparation of customer files as per their minimum SHE requirements, as well as determine the minimum requirements for the control of contractors/sub-contractors at BHBW sites.

 

Key Performance Areas

  • Drive SHE awareness through toolbox talks and general safety flash communications.
  • Ensure SHE boards are updated with the latest health and safety statistics as well as updated appointments.
  • Assist with conducting all onboarding training and SHE induction.
  • Ensure all training certificates are valid, and liaise with SHEQ Manager were there are training gaps
  • Ensure training schedule is up to date and plan training when required in conjunction with HC team.
  • Assist with facilitating and coordinating monthly SHE committee meetings, VFL meetings as well as incident and accident investigation.
  • Conduct Safety, Health & Environment inspections.
  • Register all incident and accident, liaise with first aiders to register all first aid injuries.
  • Assist with managing IOD’s from First Medical Report until the Final Medical Report is received. Frequently complete the requested resumption report.
  • Ensure emergency preparedness and response plans are implemented and tested.
  • Tracking of quality non-compliance and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Assist with day-to-day administrative duties.
  • Assist with the monitoring and roll-out of ISO documents for standard certification.

 

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

Minimum Qualification
  • Qualification relevant to Occupational Health, Safety, and the Environment
  • Any additional training relevant to Occupational Health, Safety, and the Environment
  • Valid driver’s license

Minimum Experience

  • Knowledge of the legislation applicable to Occupational Health, Safety, and the Environment

Competencies

  • Knowledge in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Good understanding of safety terminology
  • Report writing skills
  • Ability to work and communicate with staff at all levels
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Able to handle confidential information
