The City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality is the local government for the East Rand region of Gauteng. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Executive Manager to lead our Support Services division. This role is essential for ensuring effective governance, compliance, and strategic planning within the municipality.

Minimum Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration or an equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification.
  • A Post Graduate Degree in Administration and Governance is an advantage.
  • At least 8 years of relevant management experience, including at least 3 years at a middle management level.
  • Proven experience in governance, compliance, and corporate services.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and people management skills.

Core Responsibilities

As the Senior Executive Manager for Support Services, your duties will include:

  • Strategic Leadership: Providing direction to ensure the support division functions efficiently and effectively.
  • Governance and Compliance: Developing and monitoring regulatory frameworks to ensure all operations meet legal and internal standards.
  • Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong partnerships with internal departments, external service providers, and legislative agencies.
  • Risk and Audit: Overseeing all risk management and audit-related matters for the department.
  • Contract Management: Managing the full lifecycle of tenders, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and contracts.
  • Strategic Planning: Developing and reviewing the Development Planning and Real Estate Department Strategy, including managing SDBIP and IDP deliverables.
  • Branding and Promotion: Coordinating with the Communications department to promote projects and manage the departmental brand.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Acting as the primary point of contact for ward councillors, private sector partners, and provincial or national government departments.
  • Operational Improvement: Driving organizational change to improve daily operations and efficiency.
  • Financial Oversight: Managing financial planning, monitoring budgets, and reporting on departmental spending.
