Job Purpose

In this role, you will provide essential HR and payroll support using the SAP management system. You will be responsible for ensuring that payroll and employee benefits are processed accurately and on time. As a custodian of HR policies, you will provide guidance to staff and ensure all administrative actions comply with current labor legislation and internal standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Management: Capture and maintain employee transactions on the SAP system, ensuring the accurate processing of the organization’s payroll.
  • Compliance & Auditing: Regularly audit HR documents and system reports to find and fix errors. Implement measures to prevent future discrepancies.
  • Debt Recovery: Calculate and recover employee debts related to bursaries, leave, or terminations to minimize financial risk to the organization.
  • Stakeholder Support: Interact with internal departments and external partners, including medical aid brokers, pension funds (GEPF), and legal entities regarding garnishee orders.
  • Training & Development: Conduct training sessions across the organization to help employees understand HR systems, policy changes, and benefit updates.
  • Data Integrity: Manage employee data with a high level of confidentiality, ensuring all information is secure and up to date.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports and memorandums on HR activities to help management make informed decisions.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must meet one of the following criteria:

  • A Higher Certificate (NQF 5) in Human Resources plus at least 3 years of experience in HR Administration and Payroll.
  • OR
  • A Senior Certificate/Matric (NQF 4) plus at least 4 years of experience in HR Administration and Payroll.

Additional Skills and Competencies

  • Experience working with SAP HCM systems is highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, financial administration, and labor legislation.
  • High level of computer literacy and data analysis skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • A commitment to honesty, integrity, and professional service.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with stakeholders at all levels.
