Purpose of the Job

As a Supply Chain Management Specialist, you will manage and execute procurement requests according to the TASEZ procurement plan. You will ensure all buying activities meet business needs efficiently and legally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze spending for construction, infrastructure, and operational needs.
  • Ensure all procurement follows SCM policies, PFMA, and Treasury regulations.
  • Work with department heads to carry out the procurement plan.
  • Advise the business on the best ways to purchase goods and services.
  • Track procurement requests and manage business contracts.
  • Identify risks in procurement and report them to the SCM Manager.
  • Promote BBBEE and transformation through the procurement process.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all sourcing and bidding activities.
  • Help maintain the BBBEE records and the contract management database.
  • Support the tendering process and help onboard new suppliers.
  • Evaluate proposals from bidders and write recommendation reports.
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers to get the best value.

Tender and Administrative Duties

  • Prepare lists of suppliers and manage the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process.
  • Ensure all purchase requests are authorized before starting procurement.
  • Organize site inspections, briefing meetings, and record minutes.
  • Securely collect and store tender documents.
  • Create purchase orders and help draft Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Provide regular updates and quarterly reports to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Qualification: A Bachelor’s or BTech Degree (Honours) in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Law, or a related field.
  • Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of public sector procurement processes.
    • Experience with IT, infrastructure, and construction projects.
    • Familiarity with CIDB regulations and FIPDIM.
