A vacancy has become available for a Graphic Designer.The ideal candidate should be a visual storyteller to support BCE’s brand messages. This role involves creating visual concepts using computer software - incorporating brand management essentials, marketing, art, and technology and customer service, both internal as well as external. In this role, the candidate will create visual displays of ideas and information, contributing to the accomplishment of marketing objectives in the most visually pleasing and impactful way.
Key duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:Design: Conceptualise designs, determine the message the design should portray, create visual elements to support the concepts and edit the concepts until all stakeholders are satisfied. This includes:
- Designing print communication including but not limited to BCE bi-annual catalogue, brochures, flyers, adverts, packing and posters, quarterly/annual internal events.
- Designing logos, business cards, and corporate stationery elements.
- Converting print communications to formats applicable for the web and smart devices and other digital platforms.
- Designing PowerPoint templates, certificates, and handouts for both internal and external campaigns.
- Assisting with effectively communicating brief to suppliers
- Assisting with the brand pack/Corporate Identity design.
- Creating decorative labels, calendars, and electronic marketing messages.
- Design packaging for retail skills.
Website Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on BCE’s website, ensuring it runs seamlessly providing users with a good browsing experience. This includes:
- Updates to images library, content, specifications/datasheets.
- Ensure website is updated to the latest version & liaising with host company.
- Moderating comments and alerting agency so appropriate action can be taken.
- Ensure all links are functional.
Customer Service: Providing excellent service and support to internal and external clients, respond to queries and requests in a prompt, professional and efficient manner. This includes but not limited to:
- Provision of images, flyers, logos, internal communications etc.
- Provision of marketing collateral (i.e posters, banners, gazebo’s etc)
- Meet with customers to discuss requirements.
Liaising with Service Providers: Working with service providers and ensuring that ordered
material is received. This includes:
- Packaging, business cards and all designed material is received from printers.
- Submitting designed material and following up on quotes, purchase orders and payments.
- Working with the designated agency on social media design elements.
- Photography: Be able to assist with the capturing and editing of product images when required for internal and external materials.
Requirements and skills:
- Matric/Grade 12 and Diploma / Degree in the relevant field
- Portfolio to be presented – either digitally or hard copy.
- Marketing agency experience and UX/UI design, motion graphics, digital campaign optimisation
- Strong understanding of brand storytelling and customer engagement.
