Job Description

As a Technician in our Clinical Pathology laboratory, you are a vital part of the diagnostic process. Your role involves performing routine and urgent sample analyses with precision and care, ensuring that every result contributes to timely, quality healthcare. This is more than a technical role - it is an opportunity to be part of a high-performance culture where your expertise supports better outcomes and your growth is actively encouraged.

Requirements

Role Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, you are required to hold a National Certificate in Medical Technology (Clinical Pathology) and be registered with the HPCSA as a Medical Technician in Clinical Pathology. These qualifications ensure you are equipped to contribute meaningfully from day one, while also aligning with our commitment to attracting the right talent to deliver on our strategy.

You would also need to have a valid South African drivers license: Code B and your own transport.

Skills Requirements

Strong communication skills in both English and Afrikaans, basic computer literacy, and sound numerical reasoning are essential for success in this role. These skills enable you to collaborate effectively, manage data accurately, and contribute to a people-centric environment where engagement and teamwork are key.

Role Impact

In this role, your technical expertise and attention to detail will help ensure that specimens are processed efficiently and results are delivered promptly. You will also play a part in mentoring others, supporting a culture of continuous learning and shared accountability. By maintaining high standards in both technical and administrative tasks, and by fostering positive client interactions, you will help uphold the Ampath’s reputation for excellence. This is a role where your contribution truly matters - and where leadership is about empowering others to thrive.
